I recently stumbled across this fantastic IDEO Human Centered Design Toolkit in a post on ux.stackexchange.com. Now I know the toolkit was released circa 2009, but 2 years on I still think this is a really valuable tool to help educate clients in the Human Centered Design process. I think clients will find this guide really valuable in it's succinct & practical definition of the various aspects of the HCD process from discovery through to development & implementation.

Anyway, definitely worth a look here.

For anyone who's a fan of Street Art, you won't want to miss this show.

A good mate of mine recently put me on to Meggs, one of Melbourne's Everfresh Studio, whose recently been plying his trade in a pop-up studio at the National Gallery of Victoria. His work is amazing and it's great to see an aussie artist coming over to london to exhibit theirwork.

In the words of Zero Cool Gallery...

"Inner Demons' is an exploration of fears, desires and obstacles which each person faces within themselves. A demon is commonly represented as an undesirable evil, however when personal challenges are overcome these 'demons' can become empowered as a symbol of achievement and self-reflection. Meggs continues his observation of human dualities by combining demonic and human elements in expressive layered canvas works, photographic references and illustrated symbols"

Take a look at his work at www.houseofmeggs.com or take a look below at some of my faves.

Nuff said really... check out the flyer below for deets. Tweet me if you're keen on coming along (@richard_obrien).

This is unbelievable, these guys are fearless... especially love the dog at 0:35. Gold.

"A Vimeo user named Changoman has uploaded a video, shot from a helmet-mounted camera, of a precipitous mountain bike race in Chile.

The vertiginous video was recorded during the Valparaiso Cerro Abajo in February 2010, which is a downhill mountain bike race in Chile's Valparaíso city. Participants have to not just deal with ramps and tight competition from other riders, but also the city's narrow dirt streets, potholes and even the local animals.

Changoman has also uploaded a selection of other videos, including one where he follows another rider down the track.

There are also several other urban mountain bike races on YouTube, includingone particularly impressive descent in a Brazilian favela."

How beautiful is what this guy is doing. I love it.

      From wired.co.uk today...

"Street artist Vhils has teamed up with band Orelha Negra to shoot a music video featuring the creation of murals carved with explosives.

The Portuguese artist, also known as Alexandre Farto, is renowned for his murals, which he traditionally creates using stencils, chisels and drills -- cutting either directly into walls or removing layers of advertising posters. For the music video for M.I.R.I.A.M., he first of all carved the images and faces that were to be filmed into the walls before filling in the indentations with plaster and hiding the pre-carved murals. The plaster was laced with explosives so that when detonated, the plaster would break away, leaving the murals exposed and the rest of the wall intact."

You can find the full article on Wired UK site.

A great photo of the day from mymodernmet.com.

"I took this in the middle of the night on Ed and Frans balcony," says Flickr user Crazy Ivory. "I loved both of the cats, but they were incredibly suicidal all the time. They actually fought and chased each other on this railing, and as you can see its pretty damn f***ing high. My heart always skipped a beat when I saw them doing this, but Ed told me its OK."

Discovered this on one of my new favorite sites, MyModernMet. Really love this work by Archan Nair, and there's a good interview too for anyone who is interested.

"Archan Nair is a visual artist, illustrator and art director based in New Delhi, India whose work can only be described as explosive. At 18, he began working in fashion at his family's apparel manufacturing business. It was only when he started dabbling in digital art in 2006 (at the age of 24), that he found his true calling. Just a year later, he became an independent artist."

Some of my faves below, but you can find more here.
